2021.12.05 02:28 hey-nonny-mouse Inching towards a baby name (painfully slowly)—opinions needed!
We’re expecting a baby girl in the spring, and we’re trying to narrow our options down, but we’re having a hard time settling on names. Some honest outside feedback would be helpful, but we’re leery of asking our family and friends (we got some unhelpful input last time around). So please share your thoughts on our list! We want a name that’s feminine, but not frilly, easy to spell and pronounce, and ideally pretty short.
*Eve—probably my top choice right now. I love palindrome names, and I’ve always loved this one. The only name on our list with completely unambiguous spelling and pronunciation.,We do worry about teasing potential with Eve though. *Zoe—probably my husband’s top choice. Fun and zippy! My DH doesn’t care about popularity, but I’m worried that Zoe feels more populatrendy than classic these days. And our first child has a less common (although far from obscure) name, so going with a very popular name for #2 feels like a misfit. Also maybe a little cutesy? *Vivian—we’ve both liked this name for a long time and it feels like a very good and safe choice, although I don’t love the multiple spellings (DH doesn’t care lol). *Eva—we both love Eva, but have big reservations about the multiple pronunciations of the name. We live in an area with a large Spanish speaking population, so pronunciation ambiguity is more likely to be an issue.
Phoebe, Leona, and Thea are technically on the table, but I think we like our other options better. Although, since none of our other options feels quite perfect, it’s hard to let these go entirely.

2021.12.05 02:28 BearsGoMoo So I'm planning on fixing up a tank for my beardie and want to do a bioactive tank. I'm wondering if it would be cheaper to make the soil mix myself or find bioactive soil for bearded dragons that is premixed? The tank I'm fixing up is 65 gallons if that helps.

2021.12.05 02:28 migueloner Australian looking to move to Germany
I'm an Australian; Qualified Mechanic looking to move to Germany for a number of reasons. I've listened to German Rap & Hip-Hop for a very long time and have been learning through use of Babbel, German media etc. I love the language, Love the idea of properly immersing myself in German culture. As well as the easy access to travel the rest of Europe that affords.
Basically looking for any advice or insights others in similar situations may be able to provide.
It's early days at this stage, have done some rudimentary research. The make it in Germany site has been quite helpful as well as some others.
Having never lived overseas it seems a little daunting navigating all the rules and regulations as well as how exactly to organise things such as logistics.
Ideally it would be a move with a job offer. However I'm unsure in my Trade if such a thing is really an option, additionally how would I go about applying for Jobs from outside of the country? In a somewhat serendipitous way over spent the last several years at a specialist working on VAG and Mercedes products with an emphasis especially recently in diagnostics and electrical repairs so in that regard I guess it may be easier for me to find a job.
The other option of course is to apply for the looking for work visa whilst over there. This is easy for me but not so much for my partner who doesn't have even a vocational qualification. I found it a bit confusing as to how long she is able to stay in that capacity(I don't believe a looking for work visa is an option for her?)
We also have pets which doesn't look like it'll be difficult to bring them over but does complicate things further.
Hopefully somebody has relevant experience or at least can provide some resources. It would be really nice to find a resource which neatly lays out the relocation process but as it pertains to our situation I'm not sure that's possible.
