2021.10.23 14:44 Skriminagony My PC is on but not displaying to monitor
This is the second time it has happened to me now. The first time i just sent it to the workshop. So what's happening is my PC is on, the fans and CPU cooler are working but it doesn't display to my monitor.
How it happened: -Both times happened after cleaning my PC
Things i have tried: -Cleaning and switching around my ram sticks. -Removing and putting back the circle battery thing. -Checking my cables, they are fine -Checking my monitor, also fine
Extra info: -I don't have a graphics card -When i plug in my mouse/keyboard to the usb port at the front, they are fine but they don't work when i plug them directly to the motherboard
If anyone knows any other solution, please help me.

2021.10.23 14:44 wandering-coder This post was removed from /r/TeslaMotors automatically, so trying here. Tesla Sold Me a Defective CHAdeMO Adapter and after spending weeks trying to rectify it with no resolution, I can say there is nearly zero support to remedy my issues or issues like it.
Let me start off by saying I love my Model 3. I got it in 2019 and have driven to every state save Alaska (which requires reliable CHAdeMO for me to drive to -- more on that later), and have circumnavigated the US 3 or 4 times in it. That adds up to 126,000 miles in around 2 years. I am a massive proponent of Tesla and have sold people all over the country on purchasing one, often having people in remote areas come up to me when charging to ask questions. Having Oregon plates while in Ohio, Florida, Texas, etc in the most remote locations does this. And I always have glowing answers that push them over the edge to test drive -- and we all know what happens once we test drive.
But support for this vehicle is absolutely atrocious, especially for someone on the road non-stop. I am a power user of this vehicle. I put it through the ringer and it has handled it like a dream. Except when Tesla Service in Scottsdale, AZ broke my windshield and pretended they didn't (after eventually getting ignored by them, I took the $200 credit and paid whatever it was, ~$600, to just replace it at the Spokane, WA service center). Okay, mistakes happen and sometimes there are sketchy people working for a company, I understand.
Now I've been planning to drive to Alaska for a while and have a route via CHAdeMO charging (Super Charging route not established yet) through Canada. I managed to snag an adapter after a year or so of on and off checking and it being out of stock. I was very excited about finally getting one. I drove all the way west to pick my adapter up (3 day drive), and then hit the road again. I tested the charge adapter in Seattle, and I noticed a strange message my first time -- "Charging adapter fault. Unplug and retry.". So I did -- at a cost of $2.00 to just plug it in again. Same error. It was still getting 17kW and the cost on this particular charging was low, and I had a couple of hours to kill anyway, so I let it charge slowly. 17kW is about a 2 hour charge.
Understand this is a brand new charge adapter and this charger in Seattle was also brand new, from Electrify America if I remember correctly. But I looked it up on the internet and apparently the firmware can be old on these charge adapters, so I just figured that was the issue.
I put it away and forgot about it. Until I was in California, a road north was closed, and I was stuck for 6 hours until it opened with nowhere to charge. Except a chargepoint station nearby with, just my luck, a CHAdeMO faster charger.
I go there and plug in. "Charging adapter fault. Unplug and retry." Okay. So I unplug and move to the second plug. Once again, same error. I have no issues supercharging and given this was a new adapter, now I suspected the adapter was bad / needed new firmware. I continued doing this, using CHAdeMO at 17kW sometimes at the cost of $50 a charge when in desperate situations across the country. Some CHAdeMO chargers have a $5.00 plug in charge. Some charge a $.25 per minute of plug in and per minute of parking charge. All of them expect you to be charging at 50kW or above and all of them want to make around $15 from the deal. Except I was stuck at 17kW. I gave at least 6 different charging networks and local municipalities all across the country a try with this adapter and it seemed like the firmware was less likely the problem, and more likely the adapter hardware is faulty. After another circumnavigation around the states, using CHAdeMO on occasion to see if the adapter will work on this or that network (and make sure it was Tesla with the problem, not me), I was at a CHAdeMO charger in Minnesota that was on a new network and had the same issue. So while charging at 17kW and insane pricing, I began efforts to contact Tesla support to let them know the issue. I had 2 hours to wait, after all.
Except I couldn't find anywhere on their site to contact them for returns or defective products. I'm not the brightest tool in the shed, I admit, but I looked everywhere I could on their site with my mobile device and had no clear path. I finally get to the contact us page for support and there is no phone number, no email, there is only chat. Fine. I go to the appropriate section for vehicles and charging, write out what my issue is, and look for a button to click and get support. The button cannot be clicked. I refresh and try again. Same problem. I end up going to a different section under vehicles, type out the issue. Now I can click the button and I wait about 15 minutes before anyone says anything to me. I verify my ownership of the vehicle and go through all the intro support stuff. "Unfortunately this is the wrong department and I can't help you, you need to talk with vehicle charging". Before I can say that the chat didn't work, this rep signs off and redirects me.
I'm already 45 minutes in at this point, the chat is totally glitched out, and I don't even know if someone is going to talk to me (Side note -- I'm a software engineer with significant experience in end-to-end, scaled web service development, and I could most certainly code a better chat support module, back and frontend. What the hell, Tesla? Where is your QA?). I refresh and go to the charge section, write out my issue, and the button works. Except it takes me back to the chat window of the previous convo with no indication. After nearly an hour of uncertainty and waiting, someone starts chatting with me. They need all the info verification stuff again for my vehicle, I give it. I explain my issue. They tell me I need to take in the car and charger for service on this issue. I tell them I can't go in for service, I am on the road, and I just need a new charge adapter because this one is defective. They insist on going to service without a care for my situation, and sign off. Okay.
Now, I've done service before on the road with Scottsdale, AZ and it was a nightmare. I tried to schedule service in Denver, CO, but they only allowed me to do mobile service and I had no address. I've had service at Spokane, WA before and they seem to do a good job, so I ended up scheduling there and driving across the country because I need this charger to go to Alaska. It's important for me.
I got to that appointment this past Monday. Tell them my situation. They are sympathetic. Okay great, I will finally get support. They say I need to leave my car so they can make sure it's not the problem and they will look at the charger. They never have had to update firmware on an adapter and have not dealt with this issue before, so they'd need to look it up. They're also "short on technicians" so it will take a little more time. I'm thinking "Okay, great, I've spent months with this issue and have driving around the country with it, I can wait whatever time is needed. Just please don't break my windshield".
I wait about 30 minutes then I get a ride and visit people in Spokane. I get the call a few hours later, and see a $100 payment due with it being ready for pickup. First thought for me: "no way I am paying this, but if it's fixed that is worth it even if they are fixing a defective product they sold me". I arrive and the rep comes out. Says the adapter is faulty, says they updated the firmware and it still has the issue. Says it's not my car charging system since it can supercharge and use other chargers without issue. I tell them "okay, so what now? I need a working CHAdeMO adapter". He tells me unfortunately I need to buy a new one from the store. It's $400 btw. Uhh...what?
Until this point I had been very calm, but I lose my cool a little bit. I explain how outrageous this is, that this is a defective product I just bought in June and it had never worked, now I have to pay $100 after paying $400 for a product that doesn't work, and now I'm being told I have to buy a new one for $400. I explain there is no way to get support for it, that I can't even return it, that I have no recourse and that the store told me to bring it to them for support. I asked what's to stop Tesla from selling me another defective charger, how I would remedy that given the lack of help I got here. And to top it all off, I have to pay $100 for a visit to get support on a defective unit without any resolution?
After going through that, he became very supportive. Said they can order a new one at their service center as long as it was within a year (I got it in June), to email them a receipt of the original (I got the email immediately up and handed them the phone to email to themselves), said I don't have to pay the $100 and that I won't pay for the replacement adapter. They said it'd take a week and a half to two weeks to arrive. Finally, reasonable answers and reasonable resolutions, even if this has cost me thousands between third party charging costs and my time. I was finally on track to go to Alaska.
I left with the broken charger and a forthcoming resolution. Except I stupidly didn't get any of it in writing, because I figured they'd be honorable about it. They may still be, I don't know. But I called them and got no answer. I emailed them trying to get confirmation of this resolution so it's in writing and I can know parts are moving. All I needed was a "Yes, this is correct. We already ordered the adapter." No answer. I set up a new appointment for two weeks summarizing this, and no answer. Tesla has gone COMPLETELY SILENT on me.
So here I am, a week in stuck in Spokane waiting on a charge adapter that I have no confirmation of arriving. I could be in Arizona, I could be in Utah, I could be in Maine, I could be in Alaska, but I am here waiting in uncertainty.
As long as support is this way, I cannot in good conscious recommend these vehicles to people without a significant warning to the lack of support, and the nickel & diming nature of Tesla.
It's a $400 adapter, Tesla. My car was $55,000, I've paid thousands in supercharging and service, and I am a power user. Please resolve this, and stop treating loyal customers this way. Give all of us an easy way to replace defective products and a streamlined process for getting support. And for the love of god, don't charge us when we have an issue like this. And if you break our car in service, JUST APOLOGIZE AND PAY FOR IT!
tldr; Tesla sold me a defective CHAdeMO adapter and expected me to buy a new one and pay $100 for them to tell me to do so, with little recourse. Waiting in uncertainy for resolution.
